I have applied for my wife's sponsorship, i am in Canada and she is in Pakistan. Now the process time is long i understand that, but is there any issue if i want her to visit canada on a visit visa?? will they deny her visit visa because there is a sponsorship in the process?? please answers required asap!! its been 7 months and i am going out of my mind now... i need to see my wife!

it is always a risk for calling person to whom u sponsored as they might reject visa. Its better that u wait as 7 months has gone and hopefully she will get PR in couple of months.

never call spouse on visit if sponsorship application is in process.

Well there is no real way to say how it will work out.it all depends on the IO...there is a higher probability that they will deny it..on the other hand with your application if you include a copy of the sponsorship letter you received they might either experdite your application and grant a PR VISA straight away or take it as a sign that she will not stay back in Canada and screw up the sponsorship application..and return to PK...there is no harm in trying...

thanks for the answers....although it is disappointing i had hoped that it would not have been much of a problem for her to visit, because she applying to visit her husband! anyways thanks again... but if there is a way out for her to visit please inform me,
and yes i understand its been 7 months but i applied only 3 months back so there is still a long wait :( .

You can apply for a visit visa, nobody knows what an IO will say.If she can prove that there is things in her home country to bring her back to Pakistan like a child left behind, property there that she has to return too,a job that she has to return to,she must have enough money in her bank account to support her while she is here,(her bank account unless it is joint).
All you can do is apply and take the chance, the worse they can say is no.But having a spouse in Canada is always a give away that they dont want to leave when they have too.

thanks that gives me some hope ...We will try and hope for the best.. THANKS AGAIN EVERYONE :)

Can you please stop misleading people?

Kash, iarblue is right in the advice he gave you. You can try to apply for the TRV, but honestly, chances are slim that she will get it, unless she can show substantial ties to Pakistan -- like a job that she has to return to, a home or rental apartment that she must pay for, family to look after etc. Applying for a TRV will NOT have any effect on your spousal application. You can apply for both and you can be successful in obtaining both (some people are!) if you can satisfy the IO that you will leave at the end of your visit. You can find clarification on the matter in the OP11- Temporary Residents Manual available here: http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/resources/manuals/op/op11-eng.pdf

"5.4. Dual intent
An intention by a foreign national to become a permanent resident does not preclude them from
becoming a temporary resident if the officer is satisfied that they will leave Canada by the end of
the period authorized for their stay
[A22(2), R183]. The person's desire to work, study or visit in
Canada before or during the processing of an application for permanent residence may be
legitimate. An officer should distinguish between such a person and an applicant who has no
intention of leaving Canada if the application is refused.
An officer should also keep in mind:
• the time required to process an application for permanent residence, because the length of
time will affect the applicant's means of support;
• obligations at home; and
• the applicant's likelihood of leaving Canada if the application is refused.
