Hello all,

I read a post on another forum, a man who is close to forty years old with Phd, posted his own experience of receiving the AIP in 4 days with postgraduate LOA in his application.

1) What do you guys think of his study permit approval rate ?

2) Has IRCC loosened the eligibility requirements during the pandemic ?

3) What do you think IRCC’s next action/plan towards the international students and the study permits ?
As you can see the covid looks like to be at the start of another wave globally especially when the temperature is low.

4) Is the so called AIP the IRCC’s tricky strategy towards the pandemic?
The fact is that without the significant source of income from the international students, the institutes could be hard to survive.
One thing should be clear I think, that IRCC never guaranteed an approval in any AIP letter which is specifically notified, even not mentioned the keyword- Approval In Principle.

Please share your ideas.
Thank you.

3) for jan 2021 intake, i guess there are mainly 4 posibilities:
  • visa issued & free entrance: low chance (less than 5%)
  • visa issued & limited entrance: median chance (25%)
  • visa issued & online courses only: high chance (40%)
  • online courses without visa (aip): median chance (25%)
  • others
IMPORTANT: it's only my personal guess

I think they will issue visa, whether travel is allowed or not. AIP is not to reduce travel it was to speed up the process so students can start online classes
