Hello, there!
VO asked for further documentation. We applied outland.
I have a son, also sole-custody...now they are asking for an authorization letter from his father that he is fine, that we are immigrating to Canada. How should we word a letter like this professionally? They are also asking for an official certificate of name change from my canandian husband. He took my name when we got married. Isn't it enough that he has a driver's license and a passport with the new name? Hopefully anyone in this forum has a few ideas or recommendation they would be greatly appreciated.
Good luck to all, and don't loose hope.

I can't help you with the first part, but for the name change part, provide a copy of your marriage certificate and a copy of his birth certificate, hopefully that will appease them.

@ Pinklady
We gonna send them his birth-certificate with original name, passport and driver'lisence with his new last name and an explanation letter. I just hope that will be enough. Funny is just that we send those documents with the sponsorship application to Mississauga. My guess is that the VO don't get all the infos concerning the sponsor.
Thank you pinklady. Without you this forum wouldn't be so helpful!

Of course, happy to help!
I would also send in a copy of the marriage cert, or marriage license, as that would have his old name on it. And also if you still have his old passport, perhaps a copy of that too.

Go to this link: http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/information/applications/fc.asp and find your local visa office. That will give you specific instructions for your VO. You should find a form that your childs father needs to fill out. It should be something like this: http://www.canadainternational.gc.ca/iran/assets/pdfs/visas/30_1_eng.pdf

Hope that helps!

Sorry, you should be able to find the form for your childs father to fill out when you click on the first link and find your VO in the list of countries. PS: the list of countries is in "Part 3" so scroll down

@AmiMarin
