I am currently on PGWP that was issued to be for 3 years. And yes i know this for sure that if you were initially eligible for 3 years PGWP than there is no way that you will not get an extension.

My sposual immigration application is in process inland, and i chose that because i was in Canada. My home country takes about 18 months to process spousal cases so it doesn't make any difference to me. I didn't want to take the risk of going for an interview to USA either. If you are saying that your home country takes 6 months to process than its better off applying outland.

As far as you have Post graduate Work Permit with a valid TRV, you will not have any problem re-entering in Canada. Based on PGWP, study permit, work permit, Buffalo will never reject your TRV application unless you are inadmissible for criminal record per say.

Apply for your extension before it expires...doesnt matter when you are going to apply for your PR. I know someone mentioned that you should include this application with your PR application and you should be fine since you'd be under an implied status. That is true...however, I'd advice against it because you are eligible for a PGWP (extension); why not take advantage of it? If you were on a regular WP with "specific" conditions, then I'd be onboard with that advice. In the event you have to change jobs and your employer is asking for your WP, you do not want to start explaining the process to them. Since the PGWP are open, save yourself the headache and apply for an extension separately, before it expires.

Also, apply inland...save yourself the headache of having to cross the border for an interview. There's no much difference with the timelines.

Dear friends

I want to apply for both extension of my post grauate work permit and PR -spousal sponsirship. ( outland takes about 6 month from my country , from Bufaloo about 9 month and from inland about 18 month . But I do not want to leave canada and my husband)

I have two question :

1- in my case is it better that I apply for PR inland or outland ?

2- should I apply for my work permit first and then for PR or first PR and then work permit ?

Please please please , give me some advice . I do not know what to do .

Mary

Thank you guys , your advice are very helpful.

Just curious but are you eligible for PNP in the province where you are working? You would have to be working in a skilled occupation and have a permanent job offer from your employer to be eligible (plus a few other things). The reason I ask is because it's an easier and far less subjective route to take than the family class if you (and your employer) meet the requirements. It costs a little more because of an application fee to the province but you might want to look into it.

Hi

no , my work permit is an open work permit ( PGWP) . Do you mean the confirmation from HRSCD and LMO ?

No, I mean would you be eligible to apply for PR as a Provincial Nominee?

I do not think so , I live in Toronto .

You might want to look into it through the link above. Can't hurt to research it.
