I am American married to a Canadian. We applied Outland on July 25th. My wife called me last night frantic and said she sent the copy instead of the original. We all know they are working on July 17ish applications. That means they may not have even seen it to send it back.

What to do? Do we send the original with an explanation or wait for it to be sent back. The is really unfortunate, but we have to work thru it now.

Thank you in advance for your feedback.

Just wait. If you send something now, they won't know what to add it to. They may not send it back because it is a copy anyway. If they do, you won't have lost too much time.

just wondering exactly which documents were the "copies." There are some things they expressly ask to be originals (medical form, background check), but as far as the forms themselves......I'm not 100% sure if that's an issue. In any case, hope it's not going to make things too difficult.

In looking at the original and copy, I can hardly see the difference. The FBI report and medical report were originals. We never received confirmation that they have everything, hopefully it is because they are so backed up. Well it is not good for all of us that they are backed up, but you know what I mean.

Thanks for the advice canadian woman.

Ok, then that's even more reason to wait and not send them anything until they ask. I think you'll be in a queue anyway, so when you do give them what they needed you won't be moved "to the back of the line."
