Hello,
I claimed refugee asylum in Canada due tonmy fear of prescuaution in my home country for me being gay and i an still waiting my hearing.
My boyfriend is a resident of Canada and we have been together for almost 3 years and he has a PR and we are intedning to get married. Does this help me in getting a legal status in canada faster than waiting for my refugee case as they told me that my case basis are weak

Looks like he just wants to know if marrying a Canadian will help him. The answer is no. If immigration has doubts on the genuineness of your relationship your application will be denied.

Yes thanks thats is just what i am asking but our relationship is genuine we could not marry because we live in a homophobic country where you could be arrested for just being gay. My boyfriend is a permenant resident in Canada now and we can prove we have been together for more than 3 years and we are not lying and pressure and fear are getting higher on me here so that was i was wondering wether after i calim asylum if we got married as he has his PR and we were not lying by any mean will that help my case as he will sponsor me while i am waiting my hearing if it was delayed.

This morning you were in the US on a tourist visa and planning to claim asylum in Canada.....now you are a refugee claimant in Canada? Which is it?

Buletruck is asking you what the real story is. Are you in USA or Canada? Your story has changed in the last few hours.

I am in USA now but i can apply to TRV and come legally instead of illegal cross of roxan road and claim asylum when i arrive

The TRV will likely be a problem. Why doesn’t your bf pop down to the US and you get married there? He could apply to sponsor you as his spouse, albeit you would likely have to remain outside Canada until approved.

Coming to Canada (legally or illegally) and getting married doesn’t necessarily improve your chances of being approved as a refugee. And coming from the US makes it even less likely.

That said, coming from Thailand, makes it more likely to improve chances of being approved as a refugee?

The OP should be claiming in the first safe country.....the US....where he is now. Not claiming there and claiming in Canada just complicates things further.

If your boyfriend will sponsor you, why make a refugee claim?

Get married. Get sponsored. Please do not waste Canadian resources for a refugee claim when you have a solid alternate (like a sponsorship from a genuine marriage).
