I’m from India. I was admitted into St.Francis Xavier University for this fall intake.
I’m yet to pay my tution fee and GIC.
IELTS: 6.5 with no band less than 6
I’m unable to give my upfront medicals as panel physicians here stopped taking upfront medicals.

Should I wait till I give my upfront medicals and then apply under SDS or should I apply now under non-SDS?
What are the disadvantages if I apply under non-SDS category?

Only disadvantage in non-SDS is you need to provide more financial documents compared to SDS which only requires 1st year fees + CAD$10k GIC

Is there a possibility that if I apply now under non-SDS by paying first year fees and GIC and try to give upfront medicals when panel physicians start taking. And then, can I change my application from non-SDS to SDS??

You cannot change from NON-SDS to SDS or vice versa. The stream under which you file in the beginning cannot be changed.

Thanks much.. Can I apply under non-SDS by paying 1 tear fee and GIC?
I’ve heard that when we apply under non-SDS, we need to show source for more funds when compared to SDS. Is that true?

Yes that is true! It is always advised under NON SDS to show more funds to make your case stronger.

What will you suggest me.. As covid cases are getting down every day, lockdown situation will be eased in the coming days(May be by 2nd week of june).
should I get my pending work done(like paying uni fee and GIC) and wait till the panel doctors start giving upfront medicals and then apply under SDS?

I cannot show source for more funds as I’ve taken education loan. Please suggest me!!!! I’m confused.

I would suggest to try applying in the best possible safe manner. Getting a refusal just because of rushing into an application is not the best of scenario. If you think your funds might create a trouble for your application in NON SDS then go through the SDS route, are you an Indian? If yes.
