I've applied for post graduate work petmit in May, and I got the visa last month.
However, the validity of my new visa is too short and almost crazy. I applied for it on May 25, and my new visa was issued on Jun 15. The expiry date of my new visa is by July 30 2016. It is one month and a half long.... Morever, the visa that I had before was supposed to expire on the same date as my new one. I mean, before I applied for PGWP, the expiry date was 2016/07/30. And it says "issued to passport expiry post graduate work program on the bottom. However, my passport will expire on JUN/07/2021, which is very enough.
So I called CIC, and they said "it's a mistake, and they will contact me. However, I'm still waiting for the response from them, and I'm worried about the fact that Canada post could be on strike. Moreover, I have interview for jobs, and am wondering if I can work before I get the new work permit. And Should I leave Canada if I am not able to get the new visa by 7/30 2016, which is valid at this moment. Please help me guys..

Send them a CSE immediately along with a letter of explaination stating your passport is valid through this time and u are given such a short work Permit . Also attach your passport copy. Don't rely on cic customer care, they don't know anything .

A work permit and a visa are separate things. You seem to be using them interchangeably which makes you hard to understand. There's no need to leave the county if you do not receive the work permit. You should have implied status while the issue is resolved.
