Hi everyone

I have a quick question,

My family and I (wife, and 2 daughters) have lived in the United States for about 10 years. We went for tourism and ended up staying and as a result we lived in "ilegal status". I was deported last year 2010. Will this affect my application?

Thank you!

Yes it will when you are applying to Canada they will want to know why you were deported, every single detail

You must list all of your background information, including your illegal stay in the USA but it will not affect a PR application negatively because it is not possible to overstay a PR. If you were applying for a temporary visa, it might be very hard for you to get because of your overstay history but for PR it does not matter.
