Please help..Left old passport in Pakistan

My wife is a Pakistani citizen.She applied for her citizenship in March and application is in process.We submitted copy of old expired passport which is under eligibility period but it was expired before she become permanent resident.She didn't thought that passport will be useful so she left that passport in home country pakistan.Although passport is expired courier companies denied to send that passport to Canada
What are her options? Can someone coming to canada bring her expired passport with her or she has to go back to bring that
She become PR under new passport and completed 3/5 years under new passport but old passport still comes 8 months under eligibility period

Instead of using courier, get help from friends and family to bring the passport back from Pakistan.

This seemed like a good idea to me, as well, but then I wondered if the person would end up with any complications should they end up in a secondary search (due to other issues) in which this passport comes to light that clearly isn't theirs.

The safest way is to go to pakistan and bring it with you. 2nd option use family/friends to bring here
Another option use family/friends and send to Middle East Dubai/saudia and from there use courier Fedex/DHL to bring it here.

I am also from Pakistan. Frankly, carrying someone else's passport (even if the person carrying your passport is your closest relative) is prohibited by law. The safest way is to go back and take it back. In future, never through away your documents like this. You never know when you need it.

I did this for my folks, they were on visit visa in Canada and file went to India - I took the passport personally and mailed to Canadian embassy and went back to pick it up. I took their auth letter and I even emailed Canada customs and they had no issue as long as I had an auth letter
