Hi guys,

I've got a couple of questions that I hope someone can help with. I was planning on applying for immigration for the FSW program, but at the same time will probably be getting married within a year. Me or my potential wife don't have PR or citizenship for Canada at the moment.

- Is it better to apply as a couple or should I apply right now individually and then apply for my wife once I get my immigration.
- I've heard it's relatively easier if you apply with your fiance. Is that true?
- If I do apply for the FSW program and get immigration, how long will I have to wait before I can apply for my wife? What is the procedure?

I would really appreciate if someone could help with this as I don't know anyone who can guide me along these lines.

you are probably better of posting this question in the FSW board on this forum. this board is for spousal sponsorship, so it is unlikely you will get a clear answer here.

also keep in mind, whether or not you decide to apply with your wife as accompanying, you MUST make sure she is included in your application and CIC knows she is your wife or commonlaw partner. not mentioning her in your application will result in your NEVER being able to sponsor her in the future. Again, to know specifics of how to best apply for FSW, you will want to inquire in the FSW board.

According to my experience is better if you can apply as an individual, but you need to include information that
you are engaged and have plans to get married in the future.
