Dear All I am in the process of filling CIC forms to be sent to CIO Sydney. I went through the guide but still got confused on some points. Your inputs will be much appreciated. Thank you in advance.

Scheduel A Background/Declaration
8. Personal History
Provide the details of your personal history since the agae of 18, or the past 10 years, which ever comes first.

So if someone is 30 years old do they provide personal history since he/she was 18 yrs or since the age of 20years?

Fee form IMM 5620
I am paying by bank draft
Section B Credit Card Payment section on the bottom right hand corner there is space of date. Is it for only those who are paying by CC or even if one is paying by Draft that it has to be dated.

Hi SP88,

For Personal History - 10 years, which ever comes first. you are right
For IMM 5620 - in section B - Date for who paying by credit card, card holder name and date. not for paying by Draft
Hope i m clarified your doubts.. All the Best

3. in Schedule 4 - Economic classes would you include a house? or opnly cash ready in the bank and in savings?

Thanks!

1: Kindly check my previous post for this answer.

2: No you are not required to send any Bank declaration, Employment confirmations, University diplomas/transcripts. Your visa officer will ask for them if its required.

3: You are required to provide the amount of liquid cash which you have in your own account. As its clearly mentioned in same form that you have to mention "Amount of unencumbered transferable and available funds you have, in Canadian dollars".

I hope it helps.

Wow, Ume Rayan, Thanks! That list of documents in your file is all that I could dream of at this stage of application :D

I still have a couple of questions:

1. Why did you send the original PNP nomination letter? is it required?

2. Did you follow the CIC website guide as to the Certification of true copy? and if so - for which copy, all of them?

Thanks again!

Hi ManjuCa

I'm glad if I could be of any assistance.

1: It was written at MPNP nomination letter to send original. So I thought its better to send it at initial stage otherwise visa office is surely gonna ask for it.

2: I provided certified translation of my "National Identity Cards" as those were in my native language. Rest of my documents were in English.

Yes I followed CIC guide for translation. Following are the documents & their order which are required if you are attaching a translation:

a: Notarized English translation from certified translator

b: Affidavit of translator (An affidavit is a document on which the translator has sworn, in the presence of a commissioner authorized to administer oaths in the country in which the translator is living, that the contents of their translation are a true translation and representation of the contents of the original document.)

c: Certified photocopy of original document (To have a photocopy of a document certified, an authorized person must compare the original document to the photocopy and must print the following on the photocopy:

“I certify that this is a true copy of the original document”,
the name of the original document,
the date of the certification,
his or her name,
his or her official position or title, and
his or her signature.)

I notarized all of these three documents just to be on safe side. I hope it helps.

Thanks!
What about the other photocopies (of passports, birth certificates, etc.) - did you have someone sign and approve they are certified copies of the original?

Ans in any case, can the same lawyer who notarizes our translated douments be the one who certifies the copies?

Thanks for being there,
Maya

Other photocopies that are in English are gonna be simple photocopies. Those are not required to be certified nor notarized.

I think same lawyer can certify documents too but its better to find someone else just to be on safe side.

Hi Ume Rayan,
Can I ask you one more thing?
I'm concerned with the issue of ielts now - according to the checklist I don't need to take the test (NOC 4011, Skill level A), but reading in the forum I see people took the test even in Skill level A.

I hope I'm not missing anything here..?

I'd appreciate any help on this.

Cheers!

Hi ManjuCa

No need to attach IELTS with CIO,Nova Scotia forms & documents. As there is no such requirement mentioned in doc check list.

But after AOR, your visa officer can ask for it if he/she wants to check your language skills.

I didn't appear in IELTS & got nomination from MPNP & later London Visa Office didn't ask for IELTS too along with other requested documents. So basically it depends on your visa office & your visa officer.

OK, I hope it'll be the same case here.

By the way, number 12 in check list is "proof of language proficiency" 9mentioning that starting july 2012 most applicant to Provoncial/Territorial Nominee programs.. that fall under NOC skill level C or D are required to complete language tets.0

Of course it does not apply to me so my question is: should I only mention N/A on check list, or should I add a short letter of explanation?

Hi ManjuCa,

I have a representative and they just put N/A for number 12 as I am also not required to take IELTS. So, you can do the same...no need to add any cover letter.

Thanks,
Sarayu.
