Hello Everyone,

I am about to re-enter Canada after visiting my sick parent in England. I have an inland application for PR (common law). I know it was extremely risky for me to leave.. I am obviously very concerned I will not be allowed to re-enter Canada and that I my inland application will be abandoned. I wanted to know what happens when they scan your passport at the airport, what information comes up? Do they automatically know that you have a inland PR in process? Do they know how many times you have entered Canada before?

Many thanks for any advice.

hello,
are you a UK citizen? Yes, when they scan your passport all information related to you in their database will pop up. if they ask why you left Canada, tell them the truth. I don't think there will be any problems for you to enter.
Have a good luck!

Unfortunately I have been out of status in the past in Canada, when my work visa ran out I knew I couldn't work but had no idea I had to be on a visitor visa. When I found out (my lawyer informed me) I felt absolutely terrible as I honestly had no idea and unfortunately it was too late to restore my status. But my lawyer assured me that by doing sponsorship (common law) which we planned to do anyway would rectify the situation if granted PR. I will always be 100 percent truthful with immigration but I am very scared of refusal.
