Planning a Trip from India – What Should I Know Before Applying for a Visitor Visa?

I’m planning an international trip from India, and I’m currently trying to understand the visitor visa process before making any travel arrangements.

I’d like to know what documents are usually important for a visitor visa application and how much travel planning should be done before applying. Should I prepare a detailed itinerary, or is a basic travel plan enough at the application stage?

For anyone who has recently applied for a visitor visa from India, what was your experience like? Were there any documents or common mistakes that you wish you had known about beforehand?

I’d appreciate any practical advice or experiences.

1. Funds: Cash in the bank (not assets) over a 4 month period. Min. $10k.
2. Ties to return - job, business, income property
3. Family ties - spouse, children
4. Strong travel history - UK, US, NZ, AUS
5. Valid reasons to travel - itinerary, hotels etc.

If single, then chances are low.
