I am a Mexican citizen living in the united states. I want to go to Canada. Can I just buy a plane ticket and show my passport when I arrive in Canada? I remember long ago that Mexicans didn't need a visa to visit. I know this has changed, but can I fill out all the paperwork once there? I don't know when I would be able to go exactly, so I hesitate to try to fill out paperwork now. I also don't think I would get a response back by the time I would have time/vacation time to go.

You will need a visa to go to Canada:

Here is the main page for Visitors:

In addition to the TRV, you're going to need a return ticket home. Chances are, the airline won't let you board the plane TO Canada without one.

You have to apply for the visa in advance. You can't apply at the border / at immigration.

The airline won't let you board the plane without an approved visa.
