Best thing to do is dress in layers and talagang complete gear hehe- hat, mitts/gloves, scarf and the winter jacket. Also shoes na may traction, like rubber shoes or winter boots kasi madulas maglakad pag may snow. Malakas din madalas ang hangin dito and pag winter, the wind chill makes it even colder.

As for driving nga pala, may driving manual sa SGI website na pwede ireview, medyo tricky kasi questions sa situational part ng written test. Road signs naman madali lang. As for the road test, tip ko is learn to parallel park, kasi if you fail to do it e 10 points na agad yun. Tapos shoulder checks before you change lanes, 2 points yun eveytime di mo magawa, pag umabot ka ng more than 10points, failed na agad. Stop sign dapat full stop talaga then look right and left before proceeding. You can turn right kahit red ang traffic light which is kakaiba sa atin sa 'pinas :) then you have to yield to pedestrians. Pag may pedestrian lane at may taong gusto tumawid titigil ka talaga.

Finally :) hehe you should book your road test on a Saturday early morning mga 8 or 8:30am para konti pa sasakyan at tao sa kalsada, less challenging. Oh and by the way, most city streets 50kph speed limit, 40kph pag sa school.

Well I hope this helps, good luck to all and hope for fast processing ng mga application ng lahat.

Sana maka-survive kami sa lamig. Lalo na ako. Aircon pa lang giniginaw na ako. Pang electric fan lang ako. hehe! Mura ba mga winter accessories dyan? Or it would be to buy herer before living?

Thank you very much sa road test tips. It helps a lot.

I saw your post sa kabilang thread. Congrats at napadala na sa CEM yung medical results nyo. Let's wait patiently sa PPR natin. hehe!

God bless to all of us.

Hi Jandox,

Ganun ba? Di bale makabuild ka lang ng credit for a few months at may job ka makakabili ka din ng car. Mura din naman ang used vehicles. Ang mga banks naman like Scotiabank at RBC may special programs naman for new immigrants, bigyan ka nila ng credit card so you can start building credit history. May home at auto loan din. Kung wala, madali naman magbus dito you just have to learn yung routes nila, stops and yung oras.

hi rubyalabar!

Since Winnipeg has a population of 1.2 million,so which means it's a big city even in size. Jobwise,I have no idea about MB coz we never lived there yet :D :D.But my husband and I were looking at the jobs there for him and MB minimum wage for his line of work is only $15/hr which is way less than his SK minimum (my hubby is in the oil trade).Which is one of the reasons why we never opted to live in MB. It has been noted that Winnipeg has the biggest Filipino population in Canada :D :D,di tulad ng SK. Sabi ng hubby ko cost of living sa MB is almost the same as SK. But it's all unto you....you can always land in MB but if you change your mind...you can always move to another province. Lots of people do.

hi all,

pa join sa group. saskatchewan din application namin--skilled worker category. we're done with the medical and waiting/hoping for the best. my husband is the principal applicant and we intend to live in saskatoon. madali kaya makakuha ng work sa sask, both part time and full time?

It's true, from what happened to me lang ha... Once you get past the hurdle of getting your first job di na mahirap humanap ng mas maganda o mas mataas na pay. I started out sa call center, customer service rep then after six weeks I had to resign dahil di ko gusto schedule, gabi na ko nakakauwi. After I resigned, in 2 weeks time may bagong job na ko pero contractual lang kaya tinuloy ko lang pag aapply. Ayun 1 month ako sa contractual job ko I got a call sa inapplyan ko kaya next week dun na ko sa bago kong job na full time permanent.

Kwento lang just to show na madali makahanap ng work dito, wag lang muna mapili sa una at iwanan muna ang pride sa bahay :D haha
