hi I'm confused right now. here's my situation, I hope someone could give their insights on this.

am international student and me and my partner are planning to get married and he is willing to sponsor me under spousal sponsorship or common Law. I will be finishing my diploma course in 2017 and I just red about the pilot program of CIC. here's my question: if we submitted our application this year under sponsorship, can I stop studying my course and just try the pilot program?

So you don't actually want to finish your program, you just want to make sure you have a legal status here? If you apply for the work permit (through pilot program with your spousal sponsorship) while you are still on your study permit, you will be on implied status even if you decide to stop studying. You should keep in mind though that it will probably take a few months before you get your open work permit.
