Hi Experts ,

I became Canadian PR in DEC. 2013 while I was working abroad. I tried finding job in Canada but due to lack of Canadian Experience it was hard finding one, so I thought to keep continue my job aboard,so i worked outside Canada from Dec 2013 until Nov 2016. Then in Nov. 2016, I permanently moved to Canada (bcz didn't want to stay outside for >3 years as PR) . Now I have been living in Canada for last 3 years and ~10 months and planning to apply for Citizenship.

Physical Presence Calculator allows me to only record absences within last 5 years (2015-10-12 and 2020-10-12 as YYYY-MM-DD)

Now the very first field in absences section is to provide the 'Date you left Canada' and in my situation I left Canada in Dec 2013 and this is before 2015-10-12 and system doesn't allow me picking any date before 2015-10-12 and if I would enter 2015-10-12 as my 'Date you left Canada' then this would not match with my travel history with Canadian Border Agency records.

So please advise which date should I use as 'Date you left Canada' ?

Sorry for putting lots of dates, my apology upfront.

SANGLSO,

Put the date that system is allowing you to put and attach an LOE with all details.

Either way, it should not matter as IRCC is only concerned for last 5 years period and not before that.

Thank you so much rafzy for the info !!!!

Now when I used start date of my 5 year's eligibility period (2015-10-12 ) as absence start date, my total absence days from Canada within 5 eligible years are 448 and total physically present days are 1379 (above required 1095 days limit).

But now I am thinking maybe absence days 448 would cause unnecessary delays or they might put me under extra scrutiny.
Other option is to wait for another 1 year and apply in oct. 2021 to get ride of 400+ days of absence in 5 eligible years.

Maybe i am just overthinking, any thoughts ?

I don't think that it will be any issue ... you should go ahead and apply
