Physical presence before landed as PR

Hi everyone,

I'm filling out my online physical presence calculator and I have a question.

I became a PR on Jan 17, 2018, and I haven't been to Canada before that. Now that I've lived in Canada for more than 3 years, I'm applying for Citizenship.
In my application, I set the target date for when I'll sign the application to be May 6, 2021, so the five-year period starts in 2016, 2.5 years before I landed.



The question states: Did you leave Canada between 2016-05-06 and 2021-05-05.
My question is, how do I treat the time 2016-05-06 - 2018-01-17? I also traveled from my home country for vacation a few times.

That is an old post..
5 years is from the date you are signing the citizenship application form. If you are signing the application form e.g. 2 Aug 2021

there are some applicants who got PR after graduating/working (on study permit/work permits) in Canada. So during the time they spent (on study permit/work permits) and if they have travelled outside of Canada they have to include these dates.
For PR holders who moved from overseas with a CoPR and never lived in Canada prior they would list the visits (from Canada) only after they moved here as a PR
