Hi everyone,
I have a question about photos that the document checklist 3902e asks for. It says "Supply 8 recent photos fo reach member of your family and yourself. Read the instructions in your guide in the following sections:
- Completing the immigration forms and
- appendix b: photo specifications.

My question is the following: Who are the family members? I am the sponsor. I am sponsoring ONLY my wife. Do we just need 8 photos of her and 8 photos of myself? Or do I need to provide pictures of her parents/siblings as well? We don't have any children so, that won't be an issue.

Also, I can't seem to find "Completing the Immigration Forms" section. I'm sure it's somewhere obvious, but I'm getting tunnel vision.

Any help would be appreciated. Thank you!

What kind of photos their supposed to be? Are it supposed to be professional photos (like passport once)? or any 8 recent photos of myself I can find?

You need to provide more information if you want more specific answers. Are you applying inland or outland? If outland, through which visa office? There are different guides for each specific visa office.

This checklist is actually titled - "Document Checklist - Immigrant". This is an instruction to your spouse/wife the "applicant", not to you. Since you (the sponsor) are only sponsoring your wife, she needs only to send in 8 photos of "herself". If children were involved, they would also do so, as "members of her family" (included on the application).

Yes, but whet kind of 8 photos of "herself ? Pictures that I've taken myself? A professional once like saying on appendix B ? Are all the 8 needs to be the same one? (copy of the same picture) ?

Mississaugua is where you initially the application. Which country are you applying from? That will determine the VO and the specific guide that you need to reference.

For instance, I reread the OP's post (Bearcheese), and he mentioned guide 3902E. I read the guide. Bearcheese, scroll down all the way to the bottom of guide 3902E, Appendix B. There you will see a description of the photos needed for your wife, and instructions to take that page to the photographer with you to ensure you get the correct photos.

From Appendix B:

Notes to the applicant
TAKE THIS WITH YOU TO THE PHOTOGRAPHER
•Immigration photos are not the same as passport photos.
•Make sure that you provide the correct number of photos specified in this guide.

Notes to the photographer
The photos must:
•show a full front view of the person’s head and shoulders showing full face centered in the middle of the photograph;
•have a plain white background;
•be identical (black and white or colour) produced from the same untouched negative, or exposed simultaneously by a split-image or multi-lens camera.

The photos must:
•measure between 25 mm and 30 mm (1” and 1 1/5”) from chin to crown;
•have a 35 mm x 45 mm (1 3/8” x 1 3/4”) finished size.

I'm almost certain your photos are the same, kutchiputchi, but if you post what country you're applying from, I'd be happy to pull up your country-specific instructions and help you confirm.

Details on the photos can be found on page 16 of the guide and are identical to the specifications I posted above for Bearcheese. CIC recommends you print page 16 of the guide and take it with you to a professional photographer to ensure you get the correct photos.
