'photocopy' of the sponsorship agreement?

why am i asked to send a photocopy of the sponsorship agreement? Am I to keep the original for myself?

They ask you to do this because they want you to be aware of what you're signing and agreeing to as a sponsor. It is a contract.

I made 3 copies of the agreement (filled in the form on the computer and just printed extra copies). Even though I considered the form I sent in with my app to be a "copy", because the signature was ink they made a copy of it for themselves and sent my signed one back.

CIC sent back about sponsor agreement form with sponsorship letter but,they didn't mention anything about that So, what should I do for that?? or they just sent it for us to keep it?? Anyway,we made a mistake we signed in the wrong place ..CIC just mark on it and didn't mention anything about that form.. Do they want us to sign it again then sent it back??? it's confusing

they send it back to everyone - I think it's a reminder of your responsibilities as a sponsor.

I would imagine that if they wanted you to sign it and return it, they would include more formal instructions about it and it would be more clear.
