Hi folks

I wanted to enquire please about the photo requirements for online citizneship applications.

My question is that the image size requirement is 420 x 540 pixels. However, my understanding is that this is based on a 35 x 45mm photograph size that are typically required in visa applications. For citizneship applications the photogragh should be 50 x 70mm.

I just wanted to clarify if everyone is going by the 420 x 540 pixels, or different pixels that reflect the 50x70mm dimensions?

It also appears that they now allow to upload a scanned photograph (where my understanding this was not possible in the past).

I've copy-pasted the current requirements below.

You must upload a digital file of the citizenship photo.
  • A commercial photographer must take your photo.
  • You may upload a picture of a printed photo that the photographer took (for example, with a scanner or mobile phone).
The photo must have a
  • maximum file size of 4 MB
  • maximum image size of 420 x 540 pixels
  • file format of JPEG, JPG or JPEG 2000

Thank you

I have the exact same question. What did you end up doing? Did you go by the 420x540 pixels as this is a very small photograph size compared to what they typically ask for.
