Phone number of CIC?

Hi,

I called 1-888-242-2100 to ask if they received my RCMP check result. The agent said he cannot access CEC applicant's information, and CEC applicant should ask the corresponding local immigration office, directly.
He let me know the email address of Ottawa immigration that I already know.

I read in this forum many times that people called CIC and got some information of the application status.
Is it right what the agent said? Is email the only way to contact CIC for CEC applicants?

unfortunately yes it is true what the agent have told you,they can't access files at the CPP-OTTAWA and there is no phone number to contact them.
your ONLY way is to email or fax them.

Correct, there's no telephone number to contact CPP-O.

You can e-mail them for confirmation of RCMP received. I too had the same situation and sent an e-mail for confirmation. I received a reply from them in two days confirming that it has been received.
