Philippines - Canada Pre-departure Requirements

Hello. I apologize if this has been posted before but I can't find any information on this topic.

I am a filipino and my wife is a canadian citizen. We are just about done with our visa papers and I am a bit unsure as to what I will need exactly.

I already have my COPR and Canadian Visa on my Passport
I have scheduled my GCP (which I was told is what I needed as opposed to the PDOS)

Aside from these, do I need anything else before we leave?

Will I need to register with the CFO or is the GCP sufficient? I was a bit confused as the GCP requirements listed an emigrant registration form.

Any other information/clear instructions will really help. I am very clueless regarding the process and we cannot afford to rebook tickets as we're both very young with not a lot of financial capabilities. Thank you

-who told you? I when i got my COPR, an instruction sheet indicating that i need to attend PDOS is attached.

My wife is Canadian so according to the CFO website, I have to take the GCP as it's for spouses of foreign nationals or ex filipinos

try checking this out. Why not try to register then if you are indeed excepted, then you will have to proceed to step 5

Hi Patrick. Now I'm confused. It doesn't include people who are married to foreign nationals in the excepted list. Will I need to do both?

Hello,

I'm a Canadian citizen (Ex-Filipino) and my husband is Filipino.
He only attended the GCP. They will put a sticker on your passport (I think indicating that you have been registered with CFO) after the seminar, as well as a certificate that you attended.

Passport with Visa, COPR, ticket, GCP certificate and you should be good to go. Goodluck!
