PGWP to Open work permit - spouse sponsorship inland 2017

Hi fellows,

Sorry if this question has been asked before but couldn't get it. I've tried the search option many times.

I'm sponsoring my common law partner. We are sending the PR application along with the OWP. She is currently with PGWP.

If the PGWP expires before receiving the OWP, will she have to stop working ? Or she will stay with an implied status?

I understand the PGWP is an open permit but the definitions of the implied status is not clear enough.
