Hi Everyone,
I am in a desperate need of advice/experiences similar to my situation.
I have graduated from Queen's University's Master's program this May 2020.
My program was 1.5 years long but it was delivered through accelerated 1-year program on campus without any breaks.
Queen's university provide all graduate with a graduation letter stating this particular information about the program which was submitted in my PGWP application package, since they acknowledged that this is really important for international graduates to have when applying for PWGP.
I have applied for PGWP in first week of June and since I had to give my biometrics which later waived I had to wait until 10/26/2020 to get the result.
I finally got approval email but I was only approved for 1 year. All my colleagues received between 2-3 years and I was expecting the same since we all had same documents.
However, I was only one receiving 1 year - the shortest length of PGWP. As you guys already know 1 year on PGWP is not really enough to Express Entry.
I felt so depressed and felt it was bit unfair that each individuals are evaluated differently although with same profile. I called IRCC and agent said they'll note my inquiry in my profile and advised me to submit web form to ask for reconsideration. I submitted and highlighted information about accelerated program on IRCC website and also resubmitted school's letter on 11/12/2020. Today I received an email saying that they will maintain their initial decision without any further reasoning. Yet, my classmate who just received decision on PGWP today received 3 years PGWP which makes me feel even more upset. I am thinking of hiring immigration consultant, and some people told me to reapply as new application but i don't know if its an option for my case. Please share any of your thoughts/experiences and it would really be helpful.
Thanking you in advance for your thoughts!
