Hi Everyone,

I am currently working as a Data Analyst in a big company, but I am on agency's payroll so it is supposed to a self-employed job.

What I wanted to know is willI get points for this job: "Do you have a valid job offer?"
Since I am on PGWP, it is an LMIA Exempt work permit?

Since I am in Canada, working and want to apply in FSW, can I get points for this job as a valid job offer or does it have to be LMIA only?

You need an approved LMIA to get the 50 points for having a job offer.

Thanks for the help Scylla!

My only doubt is that CRS says LMIA exempt (if needed); which means LMIA should not be a mandatory thing. Since I am already in Canada, I thought LMIA stands mandatory for people who come from outside Canada directly with a job and that should be an LMIA. Isn't that true?

No, not true. As scylla said, you need the LMIA to claim the 50 points.

This isn't how it works for job offer points. If you want the 50 CRS points for having a job offer, your job offer either needs to be supported by an approved LMIA - or, you must be on an LMIA exempt work permit where the employer is named on the work permit (PGWP has no employer named) and you must have worked in that role for at least a year in Canada. This is why those on PGWPs don't qualify for the 50 points unless their employer obtains an approved LMIA.

If you are invited under FSW, you would need to show proof of funds.

For CEC, if you are classified as self-employed, this experience unfortunately cannot be counted under CEC. Do you pay your own taxes or does the agency?

I will file for my taxes myself using T4A.
In that case you can't use this as work experience towards CEC. However it will count for FSW.

I didn't get that, how can it be counted towards FSW. I have 4 years of Work Ex in my country as a Data Analyst, I will use that towards FSW. How can this be counted?
Does having this job help me anyway in either having Job Offer points or not showing proof of funds or some other way in immigration?

You are considered self employed as you get a T4A not a T4. So you are not eligible under CEC but your experience will be added to the 4 years under FSW. Also you will have to show proof of funds.
