Hello I have a question it may have been answered before but any help is good. Here is the scenario:

A student comes to canada for a 4 year program and got a 4 year TRV and a 4 year study permit.

Upon arrival they change to a 2 year program and then after graduation get a PGWP.

The TRV in the passport has an expiry year of 2022 and multi entry BUT says student on it of course because that is how they got it.

They now want to leave Canada for a short while and then re-enter but are worried that they wont be allowed back in with that TRV because it was acquired as a student but they are now no longer a student, they are a pgwp holder.

Can they re-enter Canada on this TRV?
Do they need to change that TRV to say worker even though its not expired until 2022?
What will they say at the airport?

Thanks for the input.

A TRV is a TRV. All that matters is that it is still valid.

That is what I was thinking. Do you know if this info is stated anywhere official? It seems like it is just implied.

Immigration law specifically states a TRV is valid until expiry.
