Background:
International student, came to Canada in an undergraduate degree program of 4 years. Finished the program in time. Got the post graduate work permit for three years. Had savings from co-ops. Didn't work anywhere for a year (not even part-time or under the table job), was just exploring options (finding a job as an engineer in Canada is a cakewalk, but finding a job that I love is not that easy). Scored CLB level 9 or higher in all sections but still well short on required points.

Situation:
I am going to be 2 months short by the time my work permit expires. That will be a couple of weeks from now.

Solution(s)?
I was wondering if I can ask for extension on my PGWP on grounds that I didn't work at all for my first year and I just need 2 months. Also, while I apply for extension, can I continue working or do I need to leave my job?

LMIA is not an option, the new management is only a couple of months old. My job is secure but they don't have an HR dept and won't go out of their way to keep me.

Go back to school for some cheap (relatively speaking) diploma and pay the price of choosing Canada after high school.

Leave Canada. Perhaps we have too many people in STEM fields in Canada. Should have stayed in kitchen and learned to cook.

No - you can't extend your PGWP on this basis. If you decide to apply to extend your work permit even though you don't qualify, that work permit extension will eventually be rejected (this is different than refused) for not qualifying to apply for an extension in the first place. This means you won't be able to count any time worked after the expiry of your PGWP as work experience for either CEC or FSW / Express Entry. It will be classified as illegal work.

You can certainly return to school - however keep in mind that a PGWP is a once-in-a-lifetime deal. Even if you finish additional schooling in Canada, you won't qualify for another one.

I am not talking about work permit.

For nomination:
You can see other province like saskatchewan if you get job in saskatchewan so you can get nomination from saskatchewan if you have permanent full time job offer but it takes time I dont know if you can make it in time or not.
