Hello Everyone,
So, I am studying a 3 year program with 3 Co-Op terms. My first Co-Op should have been Jan 2025-May2025 after my 3rd semester, but I couldn’t find one. I asked if I could do 4th semester but academic advisor told be I either go on break or find Co-Op. I asked my advisors and they told me it was a scheduled break so I worked full time during that time. Now I am studying 4 semester in summer and have another Co-Op term from September 2025-December 2025. What should I do if I couldn’t find Co-Op. also if I find Co-Op, Now I only have 2 Co-Op terms left which means even if I do it, I won’t complete my whole Co-Op thing. Will it affect my PGWP?

Ps: I haven’t failed any classes and Co-Op is not mandatory for my program.

It shouldn't have any impacts if you can graduate without co-op.

This is stressful, but you’re probably okay. Since Co-Op is not mandatory for your program, missing or shortening it usually does not affect PGWP eligibility. PGWP is based on completing an eligible program and maintaining full-time status in required study terms. Scheduled breaks are allowed, and working full time during them is fine. Not completing all Co-Op terms is common and generally not a problem if the program itself is finished normally. If you can find a Co-Op, do it. If not, focus on finishing your courses strong. The safest move is to confirm everything with your school’s international student office and get it in writing. That way you’re covered.

Hey, Thanks for the reply. I don’t know if you can answer or not but fortunately I got Co-Op for my other two terms, and about to graduate. So while applying for PGWP, do I mention it or just apply normally like rest.
