PGP2025 questions for filling the application

I got invitation for my mother under PGP2025. I have a few questions and would really appreciate advise from experienced members. I found some of the information in the forum but i want to make sure I understood correctly!

1. I am filling the forms for my mother. I have selected translation required if called for interview. I have access to all my mother's emails etc. so I decided not to fill the unpaid representative form. Is the only reason to fill the representative form to be able to communicate with IRCC on behalf of the principal applicant?

2. My mother has always been a housewife. In that case, should I be listing all the activities and travel since the age of 18?

3. For an indian citizen, the national identity would be passport? There are fields for passport already so they are filled with the information. Should I repeat the same under national identity?

1. Bad idea especially if your mother is not able to communicate in English and if you ever follow-up on her file in English it will be quite obvious it is likely not her contacting IRCC. That is misrepresentation. IRCC is trying to find any way to deny files why put this one time opportunity at risk?

The portal says "This portal is for licensed representatives to complete and submit online permanent residence applications on behalf of their clients." I am not licensed, I'm just trying to help my parents fill out the forms.

I am filling the application on behalf of my parents. I will be submitting Use of Reresentative form and updating myself as unpaid representative and friend and family member (no 7) on form 5476. Would that work?

Hi . I am uploading documents and could see there is 1 filed for photo. I am not sure shall i upload Separate Photo for mother and father ( 2 files ) or combine both Photos into 1 file and upload just 1 file . . Same applies to passport . I can see there is only 1 field for passport . So do i combine passport copies of mother and father and upload as 1 file .

Hello Everyone,

My parents don't have a marriage certificate, however they have their spouse's name on each other's passports and other government-issued documents. How to proceed with this?
Also, my father passed away in 2018, and I do have a Death Certificate.

Do I still require a marriage certificate?

Hi for form for supplementary travel form, do we update the trips with the most recent on top or the oldest on top since my parents have multiple trips?

Hello if I apply for pgwp and the processing time takes 6-8 months before I receive it. Does the full time job I did while waiting for pgwp count as my Canadian work experience in my PR application.

Hi . I am uploading documents and could see there is 1 filed for photo. I am not sure shall i upload Separate Photo for mother and father ( 2 files ) or combine both Photos into 1 file and upload just 1 file . . Same applies to passport . I can see there is only 1 field for passport . So do i combine passport copies of mother and father and upload as 1 file .

You can attach two separate files in the Passport upload section. It will only allow you to select 1 file at a time, so once you upload your father's passport, you can then upload your moth passport and it will appear as two separate files.

Using a representative​

Note: If a paid representative is submitting your application online on your behalf, they must sign in to their Representative Permanent Residence Portal account to do so. You, as the principal applicant, need to electronically sign your application and your representative must also provide their declaration before submitting the application.
If you want to authorize a representative to act on your behalf (paid or unpaid) you must

• submit a Use of a Representative [IMM 5476] (opens in a new tab) form
• sign electronically and get your immigration representative to do so also
• upload it with your application under the section “Additional application forms”

Note: If you and your sponsor are both using a representative, you and the sponsor must submit separate IMM 5476 forms.

If you want to allow us to release information from your application to someone other than yourself who will not act as your representative you must

• submit an Authority to Release Personal Information to a Designated Individual [IMM 5475] (opens in a new tab) form
• sign electronically and get your designated individual to do so also
• upload it with your application under the section “Additional application forms”
