Or it may notAny clue when PgP 2025 will re-open?
i was looking into options to sponsor my mother. She is around 65 years and currently living alone in my home country. Is there a way I can sponsor her on a family class sponsorship instead of waiting for PGP?. I am looking into options as waiting for PGP is a long wait i guess.
Long story short?. will I be eligible to apply under family class sponsorship for her?. I do meet all the income requirements. please advise. tia
PGP is the only family class option. Apply for supervisa. Being alone is not a special reason.i was looking into options to sponsor my mother. Apply for supervisa. PGP is the only way you can sponsor her for immigration.
Btw, would you be able to continue living in Canada until she becomes a PR?
thanks everyone for clarifying this. Yes I know supervisa is an option. but having the supervisa insurance is pretty expensive. considering the age and health conditions.
if I get her on supervisa. Can I apply for PR on humanitarian grounds. off the 4 ....3 siblings are in Canada. Would this help?
I will try to live here in Canada if she can become PR in the next 2 years. Is there a special reason that you are asking this?

There are zero guarantees that your parent will be able to secure PR I’m Canada. You will need multiple years of meeting LICO in Canada just to apply and will need to keep living and meeting LICO if your PGP application gets accepted. The likelihood of getting PR in the next 2 years is extremely low.
