Hi , I just mention that they want to spend more time with our family. also mention that du to COVID 19 restrictions they were unable to visit major attractions and cities. You may also cite the concern of their safety during air travel due to CoVID19. Also mention also the financial resources and their health insurance.

I believe during this time COOVID 19 is the strong reason.
Thank you for your response

Hi everyone, A few days ago I sent an Email to IRCC, here is my Email:
Enquiry:
Hi, we sent our permanent residency application in the sponsorship category on Jan 18,2021. It is now more than 4 months and I still haven't received any email from CIC regarding my file number or confirmation on receiving the document and starting the process. I wanted to be sure that there is no problem with my application. Could you please let me know about my file number and the status of my application? Thank you.

And I received this reply:

Good day,

Thank you for contacting Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada.
We verified the information you provided and can confirm that the
application is still in process.
All the required documents and information have been received by the
responsible office for the moment.
Due to the ongoing situation related to the novel coronavirus
(COVID-19)<https://www.canada.ca/en/immigration-refugees-citizenship/services/coronavirus-covid19.html>,
some IRCC offices are currently operating with reduced or critical
staff only.
We are working on processing applications as quickly as possible;
however, processing
times<https://www.canada.ca/en/immigration-refugees-citizenship/services/application/check-processing-times.html>
are affected and any disruption caused by COVID-19 is not reflected
accurately on our website. We will make all the necessary efforts to
finalize the application as soon as possible.
Rest assured that you will be informed as soon as a decision is
reached or if additional information is needed.
Furthermore, please note that there are two ways you can check your
application status online. You can verify the status of your
application:

* Submitted by mail (if it was not
linked<http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/helpcentre/answer.asp?qnum=1223&top=3>
to an online account):
* by using the e-Client Application

This is long process. Plan for 18-24+ months. There will be many months in a row where you won’t hear anything. If you look at other applications most have not received AOR. As long as you aren’t the outlier when everyone has been approved just be patient because you’ll just keep on getting this standard reply.

Thanks for sharing your response.
Two months back I applied for SuperVisa and through that I knew UCI for my parents.
In above mentioned e-Client Application URL, I can see that IRCC has received my PGP application, however, there is no further work on that.

*Just FYI*

Shared the following information in the PGP2019 thread, not sure if somebody has asked this question before or not.

"You are required to maintain income that meets the MNI value for your family size on the day you sign and submit the application until the application has been processed and your family member has become a Canadian permanent resident. It is important to ensure that you continue to meet this requirement as financial ability to support your relative can be reassessed at any time during the application process. If your income falls below the MNI, your application could be refused." Source: https://immigrating-to-canada.com/sponsor/family-member-sponsorship/super-visa-sponsorships/

They can ask for updated IMM 5768 E : Financial Evaluation for Parents and Grandparents Sponsorship anytime during the process even after getting Sponsorship approval or just before PA getting PPR.

The current Requirement is for the following 3 years 2020, 2019, and 2018, If someone received the request to provide an updated IMM 5768 E down the process, they may be asked to prove the income for 2021, (inclusive 2020, 2019, 2018).

With all the delays we have due to COVID-19, I wouldn't be surprised if these checks can go beyond even in 2022.

For instance, in 2011, at that time Parents' sponsorships were taking 6-7 years to get processed. Eventually, Government has to suspend the program in 2011 to process the huge backlog they had. With many people still waiting from 2018, 2019, maybe even before that. The processing times are expected to be more than 24 months. Some Applications are exceptions*.

good morning PGP friends,

I have used my UCI this morning and the application is now updated. AOR date is now showing in the status. What will be the next step? Will they send me an email about the Application Number? I am so excited. I tried to link the app on my Dad's online account and I got locked out for 24 hours. Do you think I have to wait a little bit, like a few more days before I can link the app? Thanks.

Could you tell please which company offers 2500 dollars per year
First year with Manulife for about $3600 for both parents.
Second year with Travelance for about $2500 for both parents.
Beyond second year (currently) taken only for 3 months as parents on implied status and eligible for short periods of insurance since they have no serious medical conditions, again with Travelance for about $600 for both parents for 3 months. Will keep extending every 3 months until PR/Visa Extension goes through.

My parents are early to mid-50s and healthy and @canuck78 is right about cost being higher if parents are older and/or have any medical needs/sensitive health issues.

Under the old process most of the time was spent in line waiting for your application to get selected for that year but yes you used to have to qualify for all those years. The LICO amount is relatively low if you look at the actual cost of living and the potential expenses you will be responsible for so anyone not making LICO should really be reassessing if they can afford to have their parents in Canada. There were appeals that were won if a family didn’t meet LICO but then qualified for the 5 years before receiving a refusal. Many won the appeal. Under the new system you should keep meeting LICO until your parents have landed in Canada.

Yes very exciting but don’t get too excited since they have a very long time left. Biometrics is next unless they have already done this. Medicals after that usually.

Thank you. I am trying to link the app in my Dad's online account yesterday using his UCI and last name as a combination but did not work. So yeah I think I have to wait a little bit more until I get the official AOR. I think the app is not in the system yet that is why I was not able to link it yet. Oh by the way, my Dad is in Ontario and my Mom is in the Philippines right now. So I am kind of hoping that IRCC will process the app here in Canada (my Dad is the Principal) instead of transferring the file to Manila as Local VO. Have a great day.
