Hello all,

I am curious in how all of you filled this portion out? They are asking for 10 years of Personal Information, yet they only give you 5 lines to provide this information.

Am I providing more information than necessary? I have worked and studied at the same time, I have have taken 5-6 trips consisting of 2-3 weeks per trip, I worked during the summers. Do I fill out the following in this manner:

From To Activity City/Town and Country etc
2003-11 2007-07 Part-Time delivery Driver Kapolei, Hawaii, USA

From To Activity City/Town and Country etc
2004-08 2007-05 Studying Ottawa, ON, Canada

If this is the case, I need a lot more room to provide all the information!

Any help would be wonderful!

Thanks

You can use a separate sheet to provide additional information. Be sure to label it accordingly and refer the officer to it.

yes, it is hilarious. I had to attach several extra sheets for that form...

You have it right. Overlapping dates / activities are OK, just NO GAPS !

When providing the history on section 8 can I say:

From To Activity City/Town and Country Name of company etc
2012-01 2011-01 Vacation travel Buffalo, USA Not applicable
2011-06 2011-06 Vacation travel New Delhi, India Not applicable
2010-11 2010-11 Vacation travel Buffalo, USA Not applicable
2010-07 2012-07 Job: <my position> Toronto, Canada <my company name in Canada>
2008-05 2010-07 Job: <my position> New Delhi,India <my company name in India>

Or should I insert ad additional row for my job in Canada after each of my vacation travel? (to indicate I came back and continued to work)

I am hoping I can get through to CIC tomorrow to ask if I even need to include vacations in this section as there is another form for just travels where I Can list vacations..

Thank you for the quick response guys.

Another question regarding the Personal History:

Do I need to have separate lines for each summer break between college semesters? Thanks again!

This form is just for MAIN activity. I would not count a 2-week or even 1 month vacation as a main activity. And as you point out, you will have to put that on the Travel History form.

On the other hand, if you are studying and working at the same time, you have two overlapping MAIN activities... both need to be included.

Um... I suppose that depends what you did on those breaks. If the answer is "nothing" and you stayed in the same place, probably not.

But if say, you traveled for 3 months one year, had an internship or summer job the next, etc,. then YES, you should.

hi jes _on i have same question if i worked and study do i need include both coz that time my main activity was study and in summer break i work full time so should i include that.

Yes. Again, it's OK to have overlapping dates. Example:

August 2002 - May 2006 Student
June 2003-August 2003 Waiter (Summer employment)
June 2004-August 2004 Cook (Summer employment)
June 2005-August 2005 Data entry clerk (summer)

Thanks Jes_on for the comment.

Had called CIC, and one agent advised as you did and second agent said include everything to be safe.
I decided to stick with the first agent's advise, which aligend with my thoughts.
I am finally filling out just the jobs in the "Background" form. (I was continuously employed. If there were breaks in employment I would have included here)
I am filling out all vacation travel details only on the "Your Travels" form. (this includes durations of 1 week, 1.5 months, 2 days etc)
