Question: I have obtained permanent residence status in Canada and will be immigrating there from the United States this summer. My question pertains to the VISA sticker applied to my current United States passport. My passport expires in October of this year (2012). I want to get it renewed now, before I move to Canada. If I send it in for renewal, what will happen to the status of the VISA since the stamp will be in the old passport? Will I still be allowed into the country if the VISA is in the old passport and not in the new? Thank you for your assistance. My apologies if this topic has been discussed before.
