Apologies if this is posted in an incorrect thread. My current situation is very simple, but ultimately very stressful. I am unable to pay for my renewal through the online portal. I have signed in, filled out and uploaded everything that they ask for. However, when I click on the link to pay, is where I encounter this problem. When you highlight the PR Card renewal, $50, it asks you to sign in which is the same login info as before. It says that ‘we are unable to verify your identity from the information provided’. I have tried different web browsers, different computers and deleted history and caches. Same issue. I have to leave the country soon and my PR card has expired. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you in advance.

Assume you are going to the US, on your return, you can use your expired PR card at the land border by foot or driving. Then no rush to renew the PR card - Can try again later.

If you to be a U.S. citizen (with a valid U.S Passport) you could likely return to Canada via a commercial carrier, since a PR Card is not usually required, so long as the airline doesn't know you are a PR in Canada.

Im in the UK. Am I to understand that if I fly into US and travel via land, a car, I’d be able to pass through the border with just my British passport? I have my expired PR card, drivers license, health card and SIN card with me also.
Any help is greatly appreciated. My wife has had a heart attack and I need to get back pronto but PRTD process times, even if urgent, takes weeks, evidently.

Yes, that's right. You can enter Canada this way.
