Hi Sir / Ma'am,

Good day! I want to ask for an advice from you about my case and what is the best thing that I can do.

I was sponsored by my Mother when i was 15 years old and I entered Canada in January 2005 then came back to my Country of origin in May 2005 to continue my studies. My PR Card expired last Feb 2010, it's really been a long long time that I stayed in my Country of origin, but I want to come back now to Canada now to stay for good. Is there still a possibilities for me to came back after 10 years + that I've been gone.

Thank you for any help. Have a remarkable day. :)

Highly doubtful. You would have needed to return to Canada after you turned 19 to have a H&C claim. Now that you are already over 25, it was obviously your personal choice to remain outside Canada after reaching age of majority so I would guess a slim to none chance to get your PR status back.

You can try to apply for a PR Travel Document with any H&C reasons you may have, but most likely it's rejected and your PR status is revoked.

Or you can try to "sneak" into Canada if you have a visa-exempt passport, or by flying to US and crossing by land into Canada. Again here most likely scenario is CBSA reports you at border for not meeting RO, and again ends with your PR being revoked.

If you can make it into Canada without being reported, then you'd need to stay for 2 straight years without leaving to come back into compliance with RO and keep your PR status.

Hi Sir Rob_TO,

If I try to apply for PR Travel document, my chance is very low and maybe PR be revoked. What if I have Fiance living in Canada and is now a Permanent Residence, is it ok if he came home in our country of origin and get married?and if it's ok how long is the process? or much better if he sponsor me as a common law partner, would I be allowed to enter again Canada?

Thank you again Sir. :)

If you renounce your PR status, then yes your partner could sponsor you after you get married under a family class application. How long it takes would depend on the visa office, but most likely around 1 year more or less.

Once you renounce your PR status, you could then come to Canada as a visitor if you're able to.
