I now have a PR in Canada having applied using my Malaysian Citizenship. I am also a British Citizen which I have declared in my application. I now intend to renounce my Malaysian Citizenship and I am wondering if my PR is still valid? Also, my PR card information such as my name follows my Malaysian Passport format. If I cancel my Malaysian Citizenship, does this mean my PR card requires to be changed or will be made void? Would truly appreciate the help here.

Your PR status is independent of your citizenship.

The name on your PR card needs to match the name in the passport you travel with, so if it is different than the name in your British passport, you will need to update it.

My name does match. Just that the format is different. Would that affect?

Not sure what you mean by the format being different. All that matters for travel purposes is that the name and DOB are the same.

Well, in Malaysia, they don't have middle names, first names or last names. It's just one entire name. So in Canada, my first name on my PR card is technically my first, middle and surname.

Can I still enter Canada if my name doesn’t match and my PR is still valid yes?

The issue isn't entering Canada. It's being able to board the plane to travel to Canada. If the names on the card and passport don't match, the airplane won't board you.
