Hi all,
I got my PCC from my home country last Oct 2014. Now waiting for ITA. Hopefully I will receive ITA by June 2015. But I am worried if I still can use my PCC or not. Only link I found in cic is this. It has no details.
http://www.cic.gc.ca/English/information/security/index.asp

As far I know PCC is valid for 1 year which means I still can use the same copy that I have. In another source I heard it should be issued during last 3 months before applying for PR.

Im not sure about this info. Please suggest what should I do. Getting a new PCC is a troublesome work.

Thanks in advance.

Are you in Canada?

Yes during Christmas break. I visited my home town in Dec-Jan 14/15. Does it mean I need a new PCC? Oh No. It is too complicated to get a new PCC.

It doesn't matter. PCCs are only valid if they are received by CIC within three months of being issued. So this one is too old.

They are valid for a year once they are received by CIC. However the must initially be received by CIC within three months of being issued.

Can you post cic link of what you explained? thanks for your answer.
Usually study permit, work permit visa require PCC which I found has 1 year validity in document check list.

Unfortunately yes.
You could have committed crimes during that time.

For example in my Case I left Germany in November 2013, my German visa Expired in December 2013.
Police certificated from Germany is January 2014.
I will apply with old certificate and payment receipt for a new one.
If they will need new one I will request new one.

However this will depend on officer, I was in Canada since November 2013 and had no means to enter Germany after December 2013 as my Visa Expired.

In theory old certificate should be enough. However as a backup I will have request receipt for a new one.
Requested receipt will cost 17$ while all other expenses cost 100$.

On this step I want to avoid unnecessary expenses.

In contrary you will have to provide new certificate.
You have no excuse to not provide a new one.

There is deviation from this rule. Again you talking about "generally written rule" which same for those who are in Canada and those who not.
For example proof of funds - rules says official letter, while I got 2 visas before with simple pdf print-outs from my bank.

In this case - when guy visited home country - you are right - he could have committed crime, and he should proof he did not.
