Hi everyone,

Hope everyone is doing well amidst this chaos. I had applied for my PR and submitted all the documents on January 2021. Right now my medical has passed, no biometrics have been asked however I have received a request for a PCC for a country that I have not stayed in consecutively for more than 6 months. I had visited this country for 4 months in 2016 to visit some relatives and friends (I was above 18 at the time). The rules had clearly said that they don’t require a PCC if you have not stayed for 6 months consecutively.

Does CIC/Immigration Canada have access to foreign police records/any police records and have assessed any potential issues or is that something they don’t have visibility on?
Is it possible CIC has made an error and asked for the PCC when it is not required? Can a case processing support client provide on a phone call provide some information as to why this was asked for?

This is all so sudden so any input is appreciated. I hope it is a mistake on their part.

Have you seen this happen before or have heard other experiences like this? Is there any chance that CIC has access to foreign records and may have pinged something?

Thank you for that, I have not seen that but that puts my heart at peace. To clarify, do you or anyone in this forum reckon that CIC has access to foreign records to have flagged that in the first place?
