Job Offer........
Pre-Assessed..
I am a indian citizen and resident. I have lived in US from 5th May 2008 to 19th Nov 2008 in state of Washington.

What do I do to get a Police certificate from US while I am in India. If any one has already done it, can you please provide me detailed steps and time it takes to get the same.

You get it from the FBI.
Just do a search on google and all the details are there. Also CIC website has the details.

Good luck

Thanks for the response Rupesh. I did some research and figured out following.

I need to send them cover letter and standard fingerprint form (FD-258) and payment of fees

and then send it to
FBI CJIS Division – Record Request
1000 Custer Hollow Road
Clarksburg, West Virginia 26306

Please confirm if this is correct or if I am missing some thing

Will they send the No record letter to my address in India

Sounds right but I don't know for sure. If you follow the instructions on their website, you will get it at your address.

Yes you are right. I got mine that way. I got it within a month of sending all this.

Thanks Rupesh and Deep. I will start the procedure right away. Paper work is really too much :)

Getting the fingerprint is the hardest part. I heard about someone on this forum who had to go three times to get finger printing after getting rejected by FBI twice. So that could take much of your time. I don't know if that is a common issue or not. Maybe others in the forum can talk about it

If fingerprinting issues are common, and cost is no problem, then maybe get two sets of fingerprints and send two letters for police certificate.

But seriously, wait for others to quickly reply if they had issues so you don't waste your money as I had suggested.

Thanks Rupesh, I will wait for more posts to hear from people who have already gone through this procedure.

Guys please let me know how has been your experience with FBI clearance so far

Hi deep, when did you send it and when did you get it ? I mean which month and year ?

No its correct.
I got rejected once for fingerprinting errors.
Make certain you choose an established professional.
Hopefully, it will all work fine and there is no cause for undue alarm.

There's one consultancy for this purpose. JK consultancy. I got it done from them. FBI is not the only PCC you need to submit from USA. You will also need to submit PCC from states where you have been for minimum 6 months at a stretch. This JK Consultancy has the equipment and right kind of ink for this purpose. Specially Gaurav from this consultancy is an expert. Believe me, it's very tough to role fingers properly on the form by own self. I did it by myself for FBI and it was rejected once. Please check google for JK Consultancy's contact information.

Thanks cal girl.

The price seems to be little too high for these experts. They are asking for INR 3500. Are there other consultants also who any body else is aware off.

Can I take help of local police station in getting this done?
