Hi
Can anyone guide me about pcc from india?
Is it compulsory to have passport number or DOB in pcc.
My brother got pcc done from local police in India. It just say his name, father’s name, address where he is living nothing else with his passport size photo. Everything is same as mentioned in his passport.
Will it be valid?
Thank you

The one you got is called a CID report and it’s not valid you need to apply through passport office/ Psk website and have to be present personally there with your passport.
If you lived outside of your country then you need to apply through your nearest Embassy

hi
Pcc is done by local police not by passport office.
Police verification is completed by local police however issued by PSK.

Hi
This is wrong information as cic website says pcc can be issued by local police
Only in Punjab. Check once again.

Please refer to this site again. It says for other states refer to local police district.

Copied from the same link that you shared

For all residents of India: You can apply for a Police Clearance Certificate from the Passport office on the Passport India website. The website will list what information and documents you need.

I received a rejection for pcc for my client. So i have personal experience. Even he was stubborn to get pcc from lical police station.

Yes
But there is one point above your mentioned statement that
For residents of other states: You can apply at your local district police station.

I'd suggest you not to do this. I'll explain why.

The rule means that in effect, you'll need to get PCC from each local police station where you've lived in for the past XX years. Meaning, if I was living in Hyderabad, moved my house twice, and then moved to Delhi and moved my house 4 times, all in different police station limits, I'll need to run around and get 6 such letters, one from each police station. Good luck with this.

Instead, get a single PCC done from PSK, and save yourselves some trouble.

Rest is upto you.

Appreciate ur answer. Makes alot more sense.
If you can tell how long will it take to get pcc from psk delhi?
If any person residing at same address before they turned 18, will pcc from SP office can work?

It takes one day if the address on your passport is your current address.
Again, in theory it should work, although I must warn you that people have faced rejections because they've got their PCC done from SP office or similar.
