Confused about how much i have to pay to apply for PR for my wife.

Sponsorship application (per application) 75
Principal applicant (spouse, common-law or conjugal partner, or other family member) 475

thats what it says on the cic website.

So is 75? or 475?

I dont get it. I'm doing a Sponsorship application for pr for my wife.

You have to pay both 75 and 475 but 475 if you can not pay now has to be paid later in the process . Some times it may delay application

You should pay both the 75 and 475 when you file.
Also you will need to pay 490 for Right of Permanent Residence Fee (RPRF) upon approval of your application. You can include it upfront for faster processing.

You must pay $75 for sponsorship application and $475 for the PR application at the time of filing. If you don't, they will just return it because the incorrect fees have been paid.

You are also strongly recommended to pay the Right of Permanent Residence Fee (RPRF) which is $490 at the same time. This can be deferred, if you must. But not paying it before they get to the end of the case can result in processing delays.

So recommended total to pay is $1040. But you can get away with paying $550 then $490 later.
