Paying at the border

How much cash should I have on me or can I use my visa debit card?
I'm importing my car (duty free) on my goods list - but unread I should be able and aware that I have to pay around 300$?
How can this be paid? I'm hoping visa debit is ok or personal check? Anyone know

You can pay by cash, traveller's cheque, Visa, American Express or MasterCard. The CBSA also accepts debit cards at most offices.
