Unfortunately the work must be paid. Volunteer work won't be considered.

If you read the link from the government, it states,

“The designated occupations that are included in this special measure are orderlies, nurses, nurses’ aides and patient service associates, assistant orderlies and certain home support workers.”

You can’t be a volunteer in one of these positions.
