Received my passport back today. Timeline:
PPR: June 15th
Passport received by Ottawa: June 20th
Application Approved: July 4th
Canada Post Tracker Activated: July 7th
Passport received: today.
Category- CEC- Inland. Good luck to all those waiting!

Lol, I know right! Honestly, after all the calls and emails I sent them, I'm just happy it's finally on the way. It arrived in my state (AZ) after 3 days, which is far from Ottawa, but for some reason it takes 3 days just from within the state as well, go figure.

I read a similar story for someone else on this forum, maybe May 2017 thread. But the guy got his passport back within days. So seems sometimes they don't have correct information on phone but the passport is still going through normal stamping process.

Ok... so as per the CIC, my passport was sent out for delivery on friday .... and the tracker is not yet activated.... they said cuz it was sent out on the weekend so probably, it will be activated by this evening.

I know. I would freak out big time after hearing such thing on phone. I am anxious to get my passport back but not bold enough to call CIC for the same reason.

What a coincidence, I also have submitted a wp extension on May10th and got it approved last Thrusday (July 6th), so considering CIC time processing your application should revised between today or tomorrow I think. Also, my passport is still in Ottawa for the stamping processing and it is not approved yet.
One thing interesting on this is, even if you do not received your WP extension when your actual visa expires, in theory your are under implied status until you get a final decision on this.

Right on. I understand the implied status and how it is. In your case, you received the approval for work permit extension right before PR approval.

But in my case, it is the other way around!
