Passports to CIC Ottawa: March 2017

I just sent my passport last night. The girl at post office told me to write down my name and address on the Xpresspost return envelope. I'm not sure if i was supposed to do that coz the PPR email didn't mention anything about it. Did you guys write down your addresses on the return envelopes?

Don't worry. Yes, CIC mentioned not to write anything in return envelope. But in case if you write it, nothing to worry. I read, in this thread that someone did the same way and still got his Passports with COPR.

Did any one book an appointment in Etobicoke office for landing?. If so, what was the wait time after you called call centre. I was told by the call centre agents that I will have to wait until 2 weeks to get a response from IRCC office and then an appointment after that. Just wondering how many days would it take.

You are not to write your name on the return envelope but hopefully it shouldn't be an issue for CIC

Does anyone here have any experience with sending their passport(s) from US to CIC Ottawa?

I am planning to use UPS (for sending and return label) and have a few concerns about the customs declaration (from US->Canada and Canada->US). Do we need add any extra document for that? Also while describing the shipment, do we just say "documents" or do we need to specify "passport"?

Any help is much appreciated! Thank you!

I sent it on Mar. 24, CIC status changed on Mar. 28th. Need my passport Apr. 6th for travelling, not sure if it'd arrive on time.

I just put "document" with a value of $1.00. It was delivered in Ottawa Monday with no issue.

They asked me only the UCI and the information about accompanying family members. UCI is found on your COPR, but for me it is same as the current UCI. So I would assume you can book the appointment even before getting COPR if you are inland.

Again, Call centre agents would have all your information, so if your COPR is not printed yet, they may ask questions. Anyway you can give it a shot if you dont want to wait.

Account update: Application approved. March 31
Hopefully will receive passport soon with COPR.

DO we need US visa for landing process from inside Canada??

My tracker got activated today evening. Hopefully, I'll get my passports on Monday.
