OK i just got an email from the embassy saying "Passport sent out today " , i didnt get a call for a medical or anything ...

Where are you from? If India, did you apply under Generic/General category? If you haven't already appeared for medical test, its probably for that.

I am sorry but I do not have information regarding how the system runs there, but medical test is one of their requirement so yes maybe its for your medical test if it has not been done yet.
