CIC have requested the passports

Question though:

They are requesting passports for the Applicant and their spouse. I am the sponsor, the spouse and a Canadian citizen. Do I need to submit my passport too?

CONGRATS !!

No, you submit just the passport of the applicant and that of any dependent child included in the application if applicable.

This implies that on the 'updated info chart', you don't need to include yourself (sponsor) being the spouse of the applicant.
