Passport requested but still has a trip in the coming days

Hello Everyone,

I am from Manila, Philippines waiting for my permanent resident visa and I anticipate that the passport request will come this November or December. My dilemma is that, I still have an international trip by end of December until January? What do you advice I should do once I received the passport request? Can I email CIC asking for the extension of when I should provide them the passport? Need your advices please... Thanks!

I would suggest getting second passport from Diplomatic deparment of your country. Some countries (like country of my citizenship) allows it. That way you can submit your passport and still have a travel document.

Inquire about it, its worth a shot.
